Getting the audiobook onto your iPad or iPhone without a computer

It’s possible (though more complicated) to get the audiobook onto your Apple device without a computer. Please carefully follow along these steps.

  1. Download the app Bookmobile Audiobook Player from the Apple App store.
  2. Click the audiobook download link from your order confirmation page, or from the email we sent you. Please note: the audiobook files are high quality, and so they have a fairly big file size. We recommend downloading them on a strong Wi-Fi connection so you don't use up data from your phone plan. If you have issues with the download failing, try again after a few minutes.
  3. Click “Download Now”

  4. a) If you’re using the SAFARI web browser:

    - Wait until the file is done downloading (this can take a few minutes)

    - Click the blue arrow at the top right

    - Click the pop-up that shows the downloaded zip folder

    - This should take you to your “Downloads” folder

    - PRESS AND HOLD the audiobook zip folder

    - Select “Share”

    b) Or, if you’re using the CHROME web browser:

    - Wait until the file is done downloading (this can take a few minutes)

    - Click “Open In...”

  5. Select the Bookmobile app (you may have to scroll through to the end of your apps to find it).
  6. Once the Bookmobile app has opened, you can leave the book info fields blank, and press Create. It may take a moment for the app to process the book files, please be patient and only press once.
  7. After a few seconds, your audiobook will be available for listening in the Bookmobile app.

If you have difficulties playing the audiobook file in Bookmobile (error message, file not playing properly):

  • Please delete the audiobook from your Bookmobile library (by swiping left and pressing “Delete”)
  • Delete the Bookmobile app from your device, and reinstall it
  • Repeat steps 2-7

Android Tablet or Phone (no computer needed)

Android devices have centralized file storage, and the same files can be accessed from multiple apps on the device. Downloaded files go to the “downloads” folder, where they can be accessed, moved etc.

Once the zip file is downloaded, you’ll need to unzip it to access the mp3 audiobook files.

If your Android device’s file manager is not capable of opening zip files, we recommend trying the app Files by Google.

Once you've unzipped the folder, you can move the audiobook files into your preferred music/audiobook listening app.

If you don't have an audiobook listening app, we suggest Smart Audiobook Player, a full-featured player for continuous album/audiobook playing.
